Theme Builder
Design your organization’s look once — colors, fonts, chart ramp, radius and spacing — and every dashboard, journey, layout and survey inherits it.
What a theme controls#
- Seven colors — Primary, Accent, Background, Surface, Headings, Body and Muted — with live WCAG contrast checks.
- A five-step map & chart ramp — auto-generated from Primary, or hand-picked step by step.
- Fonts & sizes — a default font plus six text styles (Heading 1–3, Paragraph, Caption, Button), each with per-device sizes: desktop is authored, tablet and mobile follow automatically until you customize them.
- Border radius — None, Subtle, Default, Rounded or Extra.
- Spacing — five densities from Smaller to Very spacious.
Fonts#
A curated catalog of twelve fonts (Nunito, Inter, Work Sans, DM Sans, Poppins, Raleway, Lora, Playfair Display, Merriweather, Source Serif 4, Libre Baskerville, Space Grotesk) — plus your own uploaded fonts, which are embedded into the theme so published pages render them everywhere.
The builder#
The builder previews your theme on real production components with sample content — flip between Journey and Dashboard preview, and between Desktop, iPad and Mobile widths. The read-only OrbGIS Default theme is always there to duplicate and start from, and a Reset to OrbGIS Default exists if you paint yourself into a corner.
The theme library#
Tools → Theme Builder lists your organization’s themes with live mini-previews and usage counts. From the card menu you can duplicate a theme, delete it, or — as an Admin — set it as the org default, which every item without an explicit theme follows.
How apps use themes#
Each dashboard, journey, layout or survey picks a theme in its Design sidesheet, with optional per-item overrides (colors, font, radius, spacing) on top. Items resolve the live theme — edit a theme and everything using it restyles instantly, drafts and published pages alike. Overrides survive theme switches.
An Admin can also apply a theme to the portal interface itself — see Organization settings. Public pages are unaffected by that switch.
